Opened in May of 2000, Tallgrass Golf Course was ranked No. 9 on Golfweeks 2012 list of Best Courses You Can Play in the State of New York. This fantastic course is located in Shoreham, New York and in Long Island's Suffolk County. The course architect, Gil Hanse, was named 2009s Architect of the Year by GOLF Magazine (Reviews). In addition to the stellar golf, Tallgrass Golf Course offers a picturesque, Hampton's-style clubhouse complete with a casual, pub-style restaurant and large event catering; a fully-stocked pro shop; and a grass driving range. This 18-hole, par 71 Scottish links-style course measures just over 6,500 yards from the back tees and is open to public play 7 days a week (Details). Constructed on more than 150-acres of Long Island farmland, Tallgrass Golf Course boasts wide-open fairways and well manicured greens, and strategically placed pot and waste bunkers.
